PM Mitsotakis participating in European Council meeting at 11:00
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to participate in a virtual European Council taking place via teleconference at 11:00 on Friday, which is to focus chiefly on the Recovery Fund and the measures that must be taken on a European Union level to address the pandemic.
The meeting is also to discuss the Multiannual Financial Framework up to 2027.
This will be the first discussion held by EU leaders on the 750-billion-euro recovery fund, along with a proposal for a 1.1-trillion-euro EU budget for 2021-2027. The plan must be approved by all the member-states.
The Greek prime minister, in a European Peoples' Party (EPP) summit on Wednesday has stressed the need for an agreement to be reached within July.
