FM Dendias in Vienna; to meet with Pompeo and Schallenberg
Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will be in Vienna on Friday where he will meet with his US counterpart Mike Pompeo and with the Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Alexander Schallenberg.
He will also participate via video call with his Austrian counterpart to the extraordinary EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting which was called at a Greece's request in order to discuss the Turkish illegal actions inside the Greek continental shelf.
Dendias will brief his EU counterparts on the recent developments in the region.
Diplomatic sources from Athens underlined that Athens' request was immediately accepted.
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias late Thursday spoke on the phone with his French counterpart Jean Yves Le Drian and with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell ahead of Friday's extraordinary EU Foreign Ministers Council meeting that will discuss the condition in the eastern Mediterranean and the escalating Turkish provocativeness.
Dendias thanked Le Drian for France's solidarity with Greece and discussed the developments in the eastern Mediterranean while with Borrell discussed the Turkish provocativeness.
