Mitarachis: Vaccination in hospitality structures to start in early May

Employees and residents of hospitality structures will be vaccinated by National Public Health Organization (EODY) officials in their turn, based on their age, Migration and Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi said in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Sunday, adding that he sees no reason to do it earlier.

Therefore, Mitarachi revealed that the vaccination of the residents inside the structures will begin in early May.

Until now, he explained, the vaccinations are done in the vaccination centres "as the number of people who had the right to be vaccinated according to the programme is still small" since the majority of the residents in the structures are young or middle-aged people.

Evaluating the results of the recent summit, the minister said that it is important that "we treat migration not as a bilateral issue between Greece and Turkey, but as a common European issue" and reiterated the need for the "unwavering implementation of the EU Joint Declaration-Turkey."
