Public sector employees to work from home on Tues., businesses strongly advised to follow suit

A Ministry of the Interior circular said that public sector and local government employees whose jobs related to repercussions of the storm did not qualify for the measure. The circular called on employees to notify the public, especially those with scheduled appointments.

In terms of private sector employees, the ministry strongly supported the measure of working from home to the greatest degree possible, to safeguard employees.

"Earlier announcements related to business obligations and employee rights during such emergency conditions are in effect" as well, otherwise, the ministry said.

The storm has led to the withdrawal of buses and trolleys and forced changes in tram schedules and in Line 1 of the metro, while drivers have faced great delays on major roadways.
