Economou: Government's priority to support the citizens facing difficulties

"We have said from the beginning that the war in Ukraine would provoke serious problems in the entire continent which will test our limits and the limits of the European societies" he said adding that the recent developments foresee even more difficult days for Europe. "It is obvious that some countries will be heavily stricken and it is certain that the repercussions will not leave any country untouched and will have to do both with energy efficiency and with energy rates".

Economou said that the Greek government's priority is to constantly try to support the citizens that are facing difficulties due to the international crises with policies that produce a measurable result. He also added that without the implemented policy for Greece's economic progress, the pressure and the problems would be much bigger.

Government spokesperson Yiannis Economou ruled out the possibility of energy cuts "There is no issue of mandatory energy cuts at the moment" he said replying to a press question on Monday. "We are doing whatever possible to avoid it but we have a difficult winter in front of us, uncharted waters regarding the prices and the energy efficiency. We must get prepared", he said.
