Greece ready for a great step forward in development, Economy Min Papadimitriou says
"Greece is preparing itself for the post-memorandum era and is ready for a great step forward in development," Economy and Development Minister Dimitris Papadimitriou said on Monday during the 10th Regional Conference on Productive Reconstruction in the Peloponnese.
He added that 2018 was a milestone year for Greece's transition to a new era.
"The post-memorandum era requires a heightened sense of responsibility and creative participation by all of us, regardless of political colours and party preferences," Papadimitriou underlined.
The minister said that, among other things, "we are implementing the necessary reforms, which will allow us to lead the country out of the memoranda by acquiring more degrees of freedom to exercise economic policy. We are negotiating debt relief with our European partners, which will give an extra 'breathing room' for the Greek economy and society."
He also stressed the importance of resolving all outstanding issues with Greece's neighbouring countries.
