Greek stocks end flat

Greek stocks ended flat in the Athens Stock Exchange on Thursday in extreme thin trading conditions. The general index of the market eased 0.20 pct to end at 598.73 points, with turnover at 16.974 million euros in volume of 8,713,412 shares. The Large Cap index edged 0.04 pct lower and the Mid Cap index fell 0.56 pct.

OPAP (1.71 pct), Athens Water (1.51 pct) and Fourlis (1.25 pct) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while GEK Terna (3.52 pct), Piraeus Bank (3.13 pct) and Aegean Airlines (2.03 pct) suffered heavy losses.

Among market sectors, Health (7.99 pct) and Travel (1.26 pct) scored gains, while Oil (1.42 pct) and Raw Materials (1.23 pct) suffered losses. Iaso and Alpha Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day.

Broadly, advancers led decliners by 48 to 39 with another 28 issues unchanged. Tzirakian (28.24 pct) and Iaso (13.59 pct) were top gainers while Selonda (11.16 pct) and Flexopack (7.14 pct) were top losers.
