«Greece is a privileged partner of Russia», Chizhov says

Greece is a privileged partner of Russia, the Russian ambassador to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, said in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) released on Sunday.
Chizhov cited the "old friendship relations" and "common chapters of history and spiritual affinities" between the two countries. He even pointed out "that there are no really insurmountable barriers that would hinder the progress in our relations" adding that "today we are ready to work in all areas, including energy."
He also highlighted Greece's geostrategic role, describing it as "an important partner in maintaining peace and stability in Europe, particularly in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans."
