Chrisochoidis concludes visit to refugee and migrant facilities

Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrisochoidis wrapped up a visit to review refugee and migrant facilities on the island of Mytilene on Saturday, saying that he was coming away with a positive impression of "the comprehensive management of the refugee problem by the country's services here on the island."

In statements just before his departure from Mytilene, said he was also impressed by the "responsibility, modesty and completeness with which the representatives of the local community conveyed their concerns over the island's crucial refugee and migration problem."

While on the island, the minister visited that Reception and Identification Centre at Moria, the Open Hospitality Centre at Kara Tepe and chaired a meeting at the North Aegean Region with the agencies and services involved in handling the refugee and migration crisis.

Among others, he visited facilities housing minors and women and was briefed concerning the possibility of relocating some 300 unaccompanied minors currently living in Moria.
