Wildfire on Kea; reinforcements sent from Lavrio, Syros

The fire does not currently pose a threat to inhabited areas, the fire brigade said, but strong winds blowing in the area are a concern and reinforcements have been sent from Lavrio and the island of Syros to assist in the fire-fighting effort.

The force fighting the blaze included 19 fire men, two fire engines, a helicopter, two ground teams from Lavrio and Syros and municipality water tankers.
