The Secondary Education Teachers' union federation (OLME) and the Greek Primary Teachers Federation (DOE) have declared a 24-hour strike on Monday, October 10.
They have also scheduled a rally at 11:30 and a march to Parliament. In their announcements, the federations point out that the Education Ministry, with the procedures of internal and external evaluation, aims "at the dismantling of public schools".
They also accused the ministry of refusing to engage in dialogue and "lying, by saying that the teachers have no proposals".
The federations spoke of "a profoundly anti-educational policy, which completely changes the structure and content of education", while among other things "creates conditions of tension and pressure on students, as well as stigmatising them from an early age".
