Wikipedia for Katsanevas: We are all Diu
The legal battle between Wikipedia and Theodore Katsanevas seems endless.
Almost two years ago, the Wikipedia entry for Theodore Katsanevas, who was written by the user Diu, and especially the reference to the words of Andreas Papandreou that "he was a disgrace to the family", caused the violent reaction of the academic and politician. He had sent an out of court requesting the deletion of the entry.
Diu refused and Mr. Katsanevas sued him. A few days ago, on March 11, it was the hearing of the application for interim measures and in April the judgment will be announced. Time ago, a bailiff handed in Diu a request for temporary injunction litigation interim measures, requesting "an interim injunction to requiring the defendant to temporarily eliminate of description of my resume to the Wikipedia the insulting -for my honor and reputation- words and phrases mentioned in the "history", until the discussion of my request...". So Diu appeared before the service judge in court for the hearing of the injunction and the very next day it became known that the judge accepted the request of Theodore Katsanevas.
The user Diu thereby forced to delete the phrase in question until the court's decision. And somewhere here a vicious cycle opens, as well as the Wikipedia explains in a statement titled "We are all Diu", even if Diu erase the relevant sentence (as he already did) that other users have the right to bring it back!
The only practical way for Mr. Katsanevas to deal with this problem, is to hand to all users who restore the contentious phrase, temporary injunction of interim measures every day, which is impossible. The solution seems to be given in a few days with the court decision, as the withdrawal or not of the disputed phrase will be final.
The Community of Wikipedia collects signatures of support in Diu and hundreds of users comment the incident.
