Possibility of no solution in next Eurogroup "dangerous" says ND vice president Hatzidakis

The possibility of not reaching a solution at the Eurogroup meeting on June 15 is "inconceivable and dangerous", New Democracy (ND) vice president Costis Hatzidakis said in an interview to the Saturday edition of the newspaper Eidiseis.

The main opposition vice president put the blame on the government that the "negotiation coincides with the election campaign in Germany".

Hatzidakis said that "the lenders should do what they promised on the debt" however he accused the government of two huge mistakes. Firstly, because it has not kept a credible stance and secondly because it delayed the negotiations for reasons of internal policy".

Asked if the economy can grow and the country exits the memoranda without debt settlement, Hatzidakis said: "The debt is the most decisive factor. The government's biggest failure has to do with its inefficiency to achieve total restoration of the confidence."
