Former minister Tsochatzopoulos summoned to testify on undeclared amount
Former minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos was summoned to testify before the corruption magistrate on Wednesday in relation to the origin of undeclared income.
Also called to testify today on this new case were his spouse Vicki Stamati and his cousin Nikolas Zigras.
The amount in question is 773,989 Swiss francs, which were not declared to tax authorities although "although they knew it was the result of passive bribery in relation to the armaments procurement contracts."
Tsochtzopoulos was released from detention earlier this month for health reasons pending an appeal filed with the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos) on a bribery and money laundering sentence, over an armaments contract related to a Russian antimissile system and German submarine orders.
