Changes in electric train service due to derailment at Neo Iraklio station
The electric train (line 1 of Athens' metro network) that carries out the route Kifissia-Piraeus does not stop at Neo Iraklio station on Saturday due to a train derailment that occurred late Friday at the same station.
Trains leaving from Kifissia stop at Irini station and resume their service from Nea Ionia to Piraeus. The passengers should get off the train and take the bus to cover the gap between stations, STASY said.
No injuries were reported from the derailment only damages to the tracks.
Urban Rail Transport (STASY)'s technical teams are currently trying to restore the damage.
