Italian national, allegedly member of Cammora, arrested in Thessaloniki
An Italian national alleged to be member of the Italian Mafia has been arrested in Thessaloniki on the basis of a European arrest warrant.
The 56-year-old Italian is wanted by the Italian authorities on charges of money laundering linked with Naples' Cammora.
According to sources, the suspect is believed to have been living in Greece for the last few years with his wife, who runs a small manufacturing firm in Thessaloniki.
The Italian, who was located on Thursday afternoon in the area of Pefka, will be sent to an Appeals Court prosecutor to initiate extradition procedures.
