Tsipras in Berlin: 'Let’s not dwell on yesterday's policies, which led us to bankruptcy and disaster
SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras spoke of a need for "progressive forces in Europe to become stronger, provide answers to critical issues and meet the basic social needs that have arisen," at the conference of European Socialist Leaders held in Berlin on Friday.
Greece's main opposition party leader, who participated at the conference as an observer, also referred to political developments in Germany: "The prospect of a progressive government coming to power in a country of critical significance like Germany in the near future will be crucial for Europe's future."
Tsipras said that such a development in Germany would concern Greece too, a country which "needs to look ahead. In a Europe and a world which are changing, let’s not dwell on yesterday's policies, which led us to bankruptcy and disaster," he underlined.
