The government will consider various measures regarding price increases, Georgiadis says

Development and Investments Minister Adonis Georgiadis on Monday urged people to keep calm in the face of an anticipated wave of price increases, in an interview with public broadcaster ERT1.

The government will consider various measures regarding price increases, Georgiadis says

"Increases will come since there is a global increase in all prices, from transport costs to raw materials. It is a phenomenon faced by all countries and especially advanced countries, and will obviously affect Greece as well. The prevailing view is that it will not be permanent, it will have some temporary characteristics that have to do with the normalisation of the market after the quarantines. We are monitoring it," Georgiadis said and referred to announcements that will be made at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) and in particular some measures for vulnerable groups and in some areas in which the state can act.

"The government will consider various measures carefully. There are no easy solutions," he pointed out.

"Tourism had an excellent performance, primary production, manufacturing, exports in the quarter reached a record in August. The economy is doing very well and will do much better," said Georgiadis.
