In the traditional manner, parents need to register the name of their child in the city registry and baptise it at a church, which issues a certificate of baptism. Under this new platform, they can register both the name of the child and its baptism, and get issued a registry certificate for both.

Parents who have had a civil marriage can declare the child's name together online as well. The registry enters the record and issues a certificate.

The online registration can be also completed by one parent in a single-parent household, and by a godparent in the case of a baptism.

The online registration, set up jointly by the Interior and Digital Governance Ministries, can be found through the central government platform (gov.gr).
