Greek Armed Forces record 141 national airspace violations by Turkish planes
The Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) recorded 37 violations of air traffic rules by Turkish Air Force planes in Athens FIR on Monday which developed into 141 air space violations in several parts of the Aegean.
The fighter jets are participating in the Turkish exercise "Sea Wolf”, HNDGS said.
In total, 20 Turkish F-16, five naval cooperation CN-235 aircraft and 19 helicopters entered Athens’ FIR without submitting a flight plan. In all instances, Greek fighter jets identified and intercepted the Turkish aircraft, while in nine cases the interception turned into dogfights.
