Greek unemployment rate fell to 21.7 pct in April
Greek unemployment rate -seasonally adjusted- fell to 21.7 pct in April, from 23.6 pct in April 2016 and 22.0 pct in March 2017, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Thursday.
The statistics service, in a monthly report, said that the number of employed people totaled 3,749,975 in April, the number of unemployed totaled 1,040,909 and the economically non-active population was 3,228,062.
The number of employed people grew 79,833 in April compared with the same month last year (an increase of 2.2 pct) and by 23,943 compared with March 2017 (an increase of 0.6 pct).
The number of unemployed people fell by 92,657 compared with April 2016 (a decline of 8.2 ct) and by 12,927 compared with March 2017 (a decline of 1.2 pct).
The number of people not working or seeking job fell by 22,850 compared with April (a decline of 0.7 pct) and by 14,181 compared with March 2017 (a decline of 0.4 pct).
