Eurogroup agreement is a window of opportunity, gov't VP Dragasakis says
The agreement of the last Eurogroup is a window of opportunity, government vice president Yiannis Dragasakis said in an interview with "Peloponnisos" newspaper on Friday.
"It creates conditions of stability, it highlights possibilities, it clarifies prospects and allows for more visibility to plan the future," he underlined.
Dragasakis stressed that the country needs a new economic model aimed at "drastically reducing unemployment by creating new, qualitative and sustainable jobs that will support the participation of salaries in national income."
Moreover he said "regions can transform into growth catalysts."
"The agreement was reached after a persistent and painful negotiation," he noted adding that although it may differ from the government's initial targets, it is an agreement of mutual compromises and constitutes the road map of the end of the programme in August 2018.
