We have an opportunity to resolve an issue that only problems creates, says Dep. Econ Min Pitsiorlas
Deputy Economy Minister Stergios Pitsiorlas claimed that "we have an opportunity to resolve an issue that only problems creates without offering anything" referring to the negotiations on the Skopia name issue.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 1st Growth Congress of Thessaloniki that is held at Thessaloniki City Hall on Saturday he said that "If we had solved the problem in early '90s everything would be better today. The delay does not help us but solidifies conditions that are against us" noted Pitsiorlas.
On Greece's economic condition and particularly for the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki's role he said that "Thessaloniki and northern Greece is the gate to central Europe and therefore an area that can offer a lot in this national effort. Thessaloniki's port was always and will also be in the future the country's gate to the Mediterranean" he underlined adding that "Thessaloniki plays a leading role in the prospects of the country's growth".
