Tajani supports Prespes Agreement
European Parliament President Antonio Tajani has replied affirmatively to a request from European Parliament Vice President Dimitris Papadimoulis that Tajani launch initiatives to support the Prespes agreement between Greece and Skopje in a letter sent by Papadimoulis on June 13.
Tajani, via his political advisor, underlined that he will contribute by taking a concrete initiative to support the Prespes agreement between Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and his Skopje counterpart Zoran Zaev.
On July 11, during a meeting with President Tajani that focused mainly on the release of the two Greek soldiers being held in Turkey, Papadimoulis again raised the matter.
According to the official correspondence between Tajani and Papadimoulis on 17 and 18 July, Tajani intends in September to invite his counterpart, the speaker of Skopje’s parliament Talat Xhaferi in order to send a message that he supports the agreement.
