A rescue operation to locate a 31-year-old man who went missing on Monday in the area of Gonni, central Greece, continued for the third day on Wednesday.
The missing man's car was found on Monday, on a bridge between the villages of Parapotamos and Gonni.
The local fire brigade chief Costas Asaloumidis told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) that the search will continue, covering a distance of approximately 11 km beside the banks of Pinios River. He said that the operation is made difficult by the large quantities of mud washed down by the heavy rainfall.
A team of firefighters with five fire engines, along with members of the rescue team EMAK, are combing the area while another team is searching the river in a boat.
