Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos, during an inspection of the fleet on Friday, stressed the Hellenic Navy's capability and readiness to defend Greece's territory and borders and, by extension, the territory and borders of the European Union.

The head of the Movement for Change (Kinima Allagis - KINAL) party Fofi Gennimata on Friday visited the Athens district of Nea Smyrni as part of her election campaign and held talks with local entrepreneurs on the daily problems of small and medium-sized enterprises and the market.

She stressed that vote for KINAL in the elections was a "vote for normality, stability and the restoration of incomes, especially of the very small and SME business people that were hardest hit by the SYRIZA-ANEL policies."

Gennimata was accompanied by re-elected local mayor Stavros Tzoulakis and congratulated him on his re-election, saying that he "expressed the style and ethics of local government that we support and advocate."

KINAL's leader emphasised the important role of municipalities in supporting Greek families and businesses, especially during the crisis years, and noted that KINAL was a powerful force in local government, where it ranked second overall. "We hope that this will slowly start to be reflected in the national elections as well," she added.
