Premier's spouse Mareva Mitsotakis participates at cleanup of Kissamos Gulf sea, beach

Mitsotakis lauded efforts to remove garbage from the shores and inaccessible beaches of the Kissamos area and expressed the hope for more such initiatives. Referring to EU fines over waste disposal, she said keeping the environment clean is important also in terms of the food chain.

Angeliki Kosmopoulou, executive director of the foundaton, said that "people think that by throwing garbage at sea it won't be visible but we all end up seeing it."
