President Sakellaropoulou lays a wreath for November 17 anniversary
As part of the celebrations for the Polytechnic uprising against the 1967-1974 military junta on November 17, 1973, the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will lay wreaths on the anniversary on Tuesday.
SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance will honour the dead of the Polytechnic with a delegation of its parliamentary group and members of the Coordinating Committee of the Occupation of 1973, at the Greek military police premises, in a commemorative event.
At 10:30 a delegation of Movement for Change-KINAL will lay a wreath at the Polytechnic while the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas, after the laying of a wreath, is expected to defy a ban and participate in a march to the American Embassy, decided by resistance and other organisations and collectives.
A delegation of opposition MERA25 is expected to participate in the march.
