Migration Minister Mitarachi speaks with Spain's Interior Minister Grande-Marlaska Gomez

Following a spike in migration and refugee flows to Spain in the previous days, Migration and Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi contacted Spain's Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gomez.

The Greek minister underlined in a message on social media networks that "I expressed our full support for the effort to guard our common borders and tackle mass, undocumented migration."

The two ministers, together with their counterparts from Italy, Cyprus and Malta, have formed the MED5 group of European Mediterranean states in order to adopt a united stance in the negotiations for the new European Migration and Asylum Pact.
