Roughly 7,128 hectares burned in the major wildfire on Mt. Gerania
The wildfire that started from the village Schino, Corinth region, on Wednesday 19 May has burned roughly 7,128 hectares in less than three days, according to the latest satellite estimations.
The latest report on the burned area derived from the analysis of the European Emergency Service. The high-resolution pictures from the European satellite Pleiades-1B on Saturday showed that approximately 4,140 hectares of forest, 1.237 hectares of farmland and 1.187 hectares of brushland have turned into ashes.
Additionally, 279 people and 373 houses were directly affected by the fire.
