Iliopoulos: SYRIZA-PA Congress signals the upcoming political change
"The SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance Congress signals the imminent political change," stated main opposition spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos speaking on Monday to the public broadcaster ERT.
Iliopoulos said it was the "most mass-scale Congress that SYRIZA has ever hed," noting that "we are leaving the Congress with 5+1 clear programme axes for the next day's progressive governance, proposals that are at the same time addressed to every progressive democratic force as basis for dialogue."
Referring, among others, to the minimum wage, he underlined that when SYRIZA proposes the increase of the minimum wage to 800 euros "it is because, first of all, it is an essential means for the citizens to meet their everyday needs".
Answering to the government's claim that today's price hikes were provoked by international developments and the war in Ukraine, he underlined that "Greece's economy has not yet been affected by the real repercussions of the war".
