Shop opening times during Easter holidays
Retail shops will be open from 9:00 until 15:00 or 16:00 in the afternoon on Holy Saturday, depending on the recommendations of the local traders' association in each area, while department stores, chain stores and large stores will stay open until 21:00 on Good Friday and from 9:00 until 20:00 on Holy Saturday.
No shops will open on Easter Sunday or Easter Monday.
The cost of a typical Easter lunch is higher than in previous years, according to traders and consumers groups, with one group calculating that it can range between 67.70 euros and 95.20 euros. This represents an increase of 13.1-19.2 pct, but also reflects a wide range of options from which consumers can choose. These prices are higher than the cost of Christmas dinner in December 2021, with the cost of lamb rising by 17.1 pct.
The increase in prices was attributed to a delay in fully restoring supply chains, uncertainty caused by the war in Ukraine and skyrocketing international energy and food prices.
