Greece: 2,661 coronavirus infections on Sunday, 11 deaths; 118 on ventilators
Greece confirmed 2,661 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) said on Sunday, bringing all confirmed infections since the pandemic began to 3,470,646 (daily change: +0.1 pct).
Of the day's total, 284 cases are estimated to be reinfections, while there have been an estimated 137,852 reinfections among recorded cases since the pandemic began (3.8 pct of the total positive results).
There were also 11 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 29,913. Of these, 95.6 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
A total of 118 patients were on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age was 70 years old and 92.4 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over. Of the total, 59 (50 pct) were unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 59 (50 pct) were fully vaccinated.
In total, 4,687 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
In addition, 68 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -29.17 pct). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 86 a day.
The median age of new infections is 37 years old (range: 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of the deceased was 80 years old (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
