Iranian-flagged Russian tanker 'Lana' to dock in Piraeus
Τhe Iranian-flagged Russian oil tanker 'Lana' is expected to dock at Piraeus port on Saturday.
The tanker was anchored from mid-April off the coast of Karystos, Evia island. The lawyers of the towage company that offered their services to the tanker, Giorgos Kozanidis and Pinelopi Tekou, said that the shipping company paid immediately its debts and the tanker in order for the ship to be free to sail.
According to Athens - Macedonian News Agency what is pending for the tanker to sail is the submission of navigability certificates that have expired.
It is noted that the Russian oil tanker could not set sail due to debts for towage services while in the previous days the Appeals Court of Chalkida has asked for part of the tanker's cargo initially reserved following USA judicial authorities request, to be returned to the tanker. This referred to 60,000 tonnes of crude oil from the 104,134 tonnes that Lana had in its tanks.
