The condition of Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Giorgos Mylonakis was reported as stable by attending doctors at Evangelismos Hospital on Thursday. Mylonakis remained intubated in the hospital's ICU, where he was admitted after being diagnosed with a rupture brain aneurysm on Wednesday.

The Deputy Minister fainted during the morning meeting at the Maximos Mansion and was transported by an EKAV ambulance to the hospital, where doctors proceeded quickly with an embolization procedure to stop the bleeding.

Thursday's medical bulletin stated:

"The Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Georgios Mylonakis, continues to be intubated in the ICU and his condition remains stable."

The next 10 days are considered critical, according to Dr. Eftychios Archontakis, the interventional neuroradiologist who operated on Mylonakis.

"Within the first 48 hours, protocol dictates that surgery must be performed, so it was carried out relatively quickly," Archontakis said in an interview with ERTnews on Thursday. "The procedure went well, the aneurysm has been isolated, so we have a positive factor, as this helps in managing the complications that a hemorrhage may cause," he added.

"From this point on, about two weeks need to pass before I can make further assessments. The hemorrhage is being monitored day by day."
