Tsipras: “An end to the anomaly with the blessings of Berlin”

"It's time to end the lies. It's time to take our destiny in our hands. It's time to change things. Let's see the truth in its face" Alexis Tsipras said on Wednesday night speaking in an open meeting in Ierapetra. At the same time, he launched an attack against the government saying that it "seeks anomaly" and that the axis of memoranda punctures democracy itself. He also talked about the Cretan people giving a "patch" to "worn politicians and worn parties that have brought us this far".

"The upcoming elections aren't going to allow this to become a catwalk of stupidity, lies, and slander" he added and spoke of "a demonstration of the ability of the brutal mechanism from forces of the memorandum in fraud, in editing, in distortion and in the construction of an artificial reality in production and reproduction of anomaly. And a proof of fear of those who don't want democratic debates with arguments and resort to extreme scaremongering". The opposition leader accused "Samaras and his friends for representing the abnormality, seeking anomaly and carrying the abnormality of institutional peaks until the last Greek house... Anomaly in human relations affected by the misery of everyday life of memorandum. Anomaly in health, in education, in environment and in every aspect of people's lives", while adding that "people in Greece are entitled to normalcy".

At another point in his speech, Tsipras said: "The old rotted, festered and poisoned the society and the country. Lenders markets, foreign patrons, greedily funds, intertwined and bankers have fallen on the body of our country and society. And the left is the party that can transform despair and rage in force for change and overturning, to address this anomaly, to offset risks for our homeland and democracy". He also mentioned that Crete will bring great change and talked about big ambitions "to open doors and windows in the sun of a new Greece". "We have great courage and we won't fold in front of any strong, local or foreign. We have great potential, experience, knowledge, maturity and sense of responsibility. We know our capabilities and don't proclaim that we are saviors, as without the active participation and involvement of the people no changes can be made" Tsipras said.

He also talked about a "left government of national salvation" adding that it would do everything in its power to confront those involved in the scandal of the ownership of banks by the same people who drove them to bankruptcy. And it will exhaust all the weapons of democracy, of the constitution and of the independent judiciary to eliminate the cancer of collusion which distorts the body of the motherland, undermines democratic institutions and turns politics into big interest services. Tsipras noted that in these elections "we have three polls but one choice, to defeat and stop the destruction, in order to turn the page". "They ask me what is the threshold of victory for SYRIZA in these elections and I answer: A result in all the polls that marks an end and a beginning, the end of the anomaly with the blessings of Berlin and the beginning of a human Greece with progress. No more tolerance or patience. On 18 and 25 we are voting and on 26 they leave. And we turn the page" the head of SYRIZA concluded.
