Fun in the amusement park ended in tragedy
Unimaginable tragedy occurred Sunday afternoon at the amusement park on the corner of Cyprus and Gounari Street in Hellinikon.
The carefree game had the most tragic ending for a 13 year old boy who was fatally wounded.
His 9 years old sister is seriously injured and is hospitalized in stable condition and having contact with the environment, in the Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital "Agia Sophia". According to doctors the girl brings trauma to the lung.
How did the accident occur.
A strong wind dragged the ball out of the pool and crashed it in a wall in front of the fearful eyes of parents and bystanders. The boy hit his head and sadly this blow proved fatal, while his 9 years old sister was injured and hospitalized.
According to information, immediately after the incident, about 20 parents who were at the point ran to help both children and a paramedic who lives in an apartment building near the amusement park gave the first aid.
The ambulance arrived after 10 to 15 minutes and carried the two children to the children's hospital.
The manager of the children's' hospital told a television newscast that the little girl is in ICU and brings trauma to the lung, but she can communicate.
For the unlucky boy said that his death was certified in the hospital and was due to a trauma to the head.
The parents of the two children outside of the ICU are tragic figures.
Many, however, are the questions arising about the safety measures, as must become clear why the children were allowed to use this game under these weather conditions.
The police have already arrest the three people in charge of the amusement park. They are foreigners that were operating the games. Against them formed file of proceedings for manslaughter and causing serious bodily harm. This morning went to the prosecutor.
The owner of the amusement park is from Ioannina and has company with similar parks across Greece. Immediately after the accident he came in Athens and argues that he brings the authorization for the amusement park, with him. However the police will examine first and foremost whether this game should had be open on Sunday, given the inclement weather.
