Meimarakis: ND did not vote for the memorandum but the country's European course
New Democracy (ND)leader Evangelos Meimarakis explained his stategy on the post election cooperations, speaking on Friday to private TV ANT1.
"We want a government with ND as the backbone and a collective government to discuss the problems," noted Meimarakis.
Referring to the insurance and the unemployment issues, ND leader said that he asks for the consensus of the political forces. "It is the last chance to solve the country's problems. To implement the reforms of the agreement." However, he stressed that ND does not have magic solutions.
Commenting on Alexis Tsipras' (SYRIZA leader) negotiation with the lenders he said that his party did not vote in favour of the memorandum but the country's European course.
Referring to SYRIZA's campaign slogan, the 'old and the young' Meimarakis underlined: "There are young with aged minds and old with young minds".
He clarified that his aim is to unblock the major investments that have stuck so that jobs positions will open and liquidity in increased.
Concluding, Meimarakis stated that he wants to form a national negotiation group and called on Tsipras to participate even if he is not in the next government.
