Bus strike by public transport workers until 17:00 on Thursday
No buses will be running in Athens until 17:00 on Thursday due to a work stoppage by staff at the Athens public transport organisation OASA, who have planned a general meeting at 12:30.
The workers objects to plans to shut down the large bus depot at Elliniko and for an overall scaling back of public transport services.
"Commuters and workers at in Road Transportation (OSY) are once being targeted," an OASA staff union announcement said, adding that the political leadership was collaborating with management to shut down the Elliniko bus depot, which was the largest operated by O.SY.
