Charges against Corfu Metropolitan, mayor, municipal council head and faithful who attended church
Charges of violating laws to contain the coronavirus have been drawn up against the Metropolitan of Corfu , the mayor of central Corfu, Meropi Idreou, the president of the municipal council, Dimitris Metallinos, and all those that attended the service at the Church of Aghios Spyridon, against the orders of the Holy Synod.

Corfu prosecutor Dionyssios Lambridis decided to press charges because, apart from the priests permitted to carry out the liturgy, the Sunday service was also attended by the mayor, the municipal council president and a number of church-goers, three of which also received Holy Communion in defiance of the restrictions in place.
