Wildfire near Karystos, Evia

According to the initial information from the Fire Brigade, the blaze does not pose an immediate threat to houses near the flames.

Fifteen fire engines manned by 35 fire fighters, two teams of firemen on foot and a water-dropping helicopter have been sent to put out the fire.

Strong winds blowing in the region are hampering the fire-fighting effort, the same sources said.
