Health Ministry clarifies requirements for visits to dentists, after reactions
Patients will not have to provide a coronavirus test to their dentists during a regular visit, the Health Ministry clarified on Tuesday, after an uproar over media reports obliging patients to either a rapid or a molecular test.
Exceptionally, the ministry said, patients expected to be operated on or undergo a procedure that may disperse particles by air need to present a rapid test done within 48 hours of the dental visit.
Those accompanying patients, on the other hand, will have to provide a rapid test (done within 48 hours before the appointment) if they are have not been fully vaccinated or have not contracted coronavirus within the last six months.
Media reports conveyed dentists' concerns that the public would forego even routine visits rather than pay out of pocket for the tests.
