FM Dendias: Greece against any threat or use of force for resolving differences
Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, in an online address to the conference on the Law of the Sea held on the remote Greek island of Kastellorizo, on Thursday stated that "Greece is against any threat or use of force for the resolution of maritime differences, as it is steadily focused on the principle of the peaceful resolution of international disputes."
"We are making every effort to emphasise the benefits of a stance that observes International Law in the relations between the countries, according to the principles established in the UN Charter," Dendias underlined, adding: "We consistently carry out our policies and our actions based on international law and particularly the UNCLOS, which reflects international customary law."
Concluding, Dendias said that Greece aims to contribute to peace and stability generally, but particularly in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean".
