Mitsotakis: We cannot afford a new internal division
"We are in a very dangerous region with multiple crises erupting simultaneously. As a country, we are not in a position to face another internal division; we cannot afford to return to times we politically want to leave behind," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said during his speech at a public gathering in Thessaloniki on Thursday.
"Greece’s voice counts today. Greece is strong, with powerful Armed Forces, an economy that is continuously improving, and citizens who are becoming participants in the country's economic progress. So, let's be patient until the Thessaloniki International Fair to listen to the announcements for 2026. But until then, don't forget what I told you last year: as long as the economy performs well, the dividends of growth will be returned to those who need it most," the prime minister emphasised.
The prime minister also promised Thessaloniki residents in the Ambelokipi district that preparations will soon begin for an extension of the city's metro toward the Western Thessaloniki, that the flyover will be ready in the first half of 2027 and that the city will soon have "the most beautiful paediatric hospital in Europe."
