Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas on Friday commented on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' decision to replace the ministers alleged to be involved in the scandal relating to OPEKEPE, Greece's authority for the payment of EU agricultural aid, asserting that "New Democracy is breaking one record after the other in reshuffles that are not decided by Mr. Mitsotakis but by the European Public Prosecutor's Office."

"No cabinet reshuffle can save a government that relies on a majority that is under investigation by the judiciary," he said, adding that early elections and a political cleansing "are the only solution".

Tsoukalas noted that "the removal of the current leadership of the Ministry of Rural Development highlights the widespread corruption, whose core and heart lie deep within the government and the Maximos Mansion. Of course, until yesterday, the Prime Minister claimed that this leadership had imposed order on the chaos of illegal subsidies."
