PM Tsipras in Cyprus
A series of issues related to regional developments in the wider East Mediterranean region as well as energy issues are on the agenda of the current tripartite talks of the Greek, Cypriot and Israeli leaders, as well as the bilateral meetings that Alexis Tsipras will have with Nicos Anastasiades and Benjamin Netanyahu. Significant agreements will also be signed.
Addressing the "Digital Economy Forum 2018" on Monday, Tsipras said that those who work in innovation and new technologies are the new pioneers, bringing the Greek economy in line with technological developments.
"The people who are involved in innovation and new technologies are the new pioneers, the critical group of people connecting the Greek economy with the future of innovation and technological developments," Tsipras said at the forum organized by the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE).
Digital transformation, the prime minister said, touches several aspects of daily life. "All transactions between people and businesses with the state will be carried through one gateway, simply and fast, from people's homes or office, through a mobile phone or a tablet," Tsipras said. The new digital gate will make the public sector "modern and flexible, based on thecommunication of all state information systems," he noted.
