36rd Athens Marathon underway

Apart from the classical 42-km route, it includes 5 and 10-kilometer routes, but also a special one for children and another one for people with special needs.

Main roads near the starting point at the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) are closed for most of the weekend. On Sunday, traffic is restricted on many roads along the route of the Marathon. The main areas affected are Aghia Paraskevi, Holargos, Papagou, Halandri, Filothei, Psychico, Rafina, Pikermi, Pallini and Paiania.
