PM Tsipras in Paris for the centenary of World War I armistice

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is in Paris to participate in the celebrations for the 100 years since the end of the World War I.

The programme of the Greek Prime Minister starts in the morning with his participation in the anniversary celebrations and ends in the afternoon with the speech he will address to the Paris Peace Forum.

On Saturday evening, the prime minister attended a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in honor of heads of state and government from around the world, as well as international organizations.

Among them, US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, IMF General Manager, Christine Lagarde.

At 12.00 (Athens time), the prime minister will participate in the ceremony that takes place in the Arc de Triomphe for the centenary of the World War I armistice, where he and the other leaders will attend the military parade. Then, at 14:00, he will attend the official lunch in honor of the heads of state and government, at the Presidential Mansion.

At 16:00, the Paris Peace Forum will take place, at the Villette conference hall. Tsipras will address a speech at 18:45. According to sources, the prime minister will refer to the lessons to be learned from the experience of the World War I.
