Migrants located and rescued in sea region south of Alexandroupolis
A total of 39 irregular migrants on board a boat in the sea in region south of Makri, Alexandroupolis were rescued by Alexandroupolis Coast Guard on Monday.
According to initial information, the migrants are 19 men, 11 women (one of them pregnant) and nine unaccompanied children. Most of them are Afghans and some are Iranians.
The rescued migrants were arrested and transferred to Alexandroupolis port for registration and identification, after which they will be probably sent to a reception centre at Evros.
