Katrougalos attends EU Foreign Ministers Council in Europe

Greece is committed to the Prespes Agreement with Skopje and expects the neighboring county to respect its spirit and letter, Alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos told the EU Foreign Ministers Council meeting on Monday, according to diplomatic sources.

Diplomatic sources said of the Brussels meeting that Katrougalos also spoke about Greece's relations with other countries, including Albania and the rights of the Greek minority there.

Speaking of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia, he said Greece remains committed to the principles of the European Union but wants to serve as a bridge of dialog with countries like Russia and Iran.

According to diplomatic sources, the majority of EU Foreign Ministers saw the Prespes Agreements as a catalyst for positive change and praised the Greek government's political courage in pursuing the Agreement, whic is a model of conflict resolution in the area.
